The scourge of cold and fog is not showing signs of abating in Uttar Pradesh. Even today, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of dense fog in 53 districts of the state and cold day at many places. In the next two days, a new western disturbance is also becoming active in the Himalayan regions. Due to which the temperature will drop further and the cold will increase.
These days, bone-chilling cold continues in UP. People are saving themselves from the cold by lighting bonfires. The Meteorological Department has said that on 25th December also, there will be a blanket of white fog in most of the districts of the state. There will be zero meter visibility at many places. There will be some relief from sunlight during the day. But by evening the fog will start wreaking havoc again.
Cold will increase further in the coming days
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will be dry in UP today. There is a possibility of dense to very dense fog at some places in the western part of the state on Thursday. While there will be extremely dense fog in many parts of Eastern UP, a warning of cold day has been issued at many places from Sitapur to Gorakhpur. There is no possibility of respite from fog on 26th and 27th December.
Fog and cold day warning in these districts
In UP today, there is orange alert of dense fog and cold day in Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Barabanki, Gonda, Balrampur, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Santarvidas Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Basti and Sant Kabir Nagar. Whereas yellow alert of cold day has been given in Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh and Rae Bareli. There will be dense fog here also.
Orange alert of dense fog has been given in Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Mirzapur. Whereas, yellow alert of dense fog has been given in Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Moradabad, Sambhal, Badaun, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Kasganj, Hardoi, Lucknow, Unnao, Kanpur, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ballia today.
Due to cold and fog, people have been forced to hide in their homes. It will get colder in the coming days. The minimum temperature is likely to drop gradually by about two degrees Celsius in the next two days.
