CBSE Board Exam 2026: CBSE changed the exam date of some subjects, the board issued a new notice; know

Important news has come out for lakhs of students across the country. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a big update regarding the class 10th and 12th board examinations to be held in the year 2026. The board has changed the dates of examinations of some subjects proposed to be held on March 3, 2026. In this regard, CBSE has issued a notification on its official website cbse.gov.in and informed the students and parents.

According to CBSE, due to administrative reasons, the dates of the examinations which were earlier to be held on March 3, 2026, have been revised. Class 10th examination will now be conducted on 11 March 2026. The new date of 12th exam has been fixed as 10th April 2026.

The board has also clarified that apart from these subjects, all other examinations will be conducted as per the already decided schedule.

Information reached to students and parents

CBSE has appealed to all the affiliated schools to convey the information about this change to the students and their parents in time. The board has assured that the revised datesheet will be released soon, which will contain complete details of the new exam dates. Not only this, the changed dates will also be updated in the admit cards of the students.

Board exams will be held in a single shift

According to the final plan of the board, the board examinations of class 10th and 12th will be held in a single shift. The examination of most subjects will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

At the same time, there has been a partial change in the examination time of some selected subjects, whose examination will be conducted from 10:30 am to 12:30 noon.

When will the exams be held?

CBSE has made it clear that the examinations of all other subjects will be held as per the already decided schedule. The dates of only these few subjects have been changed. CBSE’s 10th and 12th board exams will be held from February to April. Some papers of 10th will now be held on 11th March and 12th Legal Studies exam will be held on 10th April. The remaining examinations will be held as per the fixed schedule. Admit cards can be downloaded from CBSE website by entering roll number etc.

step 1 : Go to the official website of CBSE.
Step 2: Click on “Admit Card” link on the homepage.
Step 3: Enter roll number, school number and date of birth.
Step 4: Click on Submit.
Step 5: Admit Card will appear on the screen, download it and take a print out.
