North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un participated in a grand ceremony organized in Pyongyang on Wednesday (31 December 2025) on the occasion of New Year. This event took place in the famous Mayday Stadium of the capital, where about 1.5 lakh people were present. North Korea’s government media made information about this program public on Thursday. This New Year event is seen as a show of strength and a symbol of unity in North Korea.
The most special thing about this ceremony was that Kim Jong Un’s wife Ri Sol Ju was also seen in the program. She had not appeared in government media or public events for several months, so her presence attracted international media attention. North Korean TV footage showed Ri Sol Ju enjoying the celebrations at the stadium.
Family moments with daughter also captured on camera
Kim Jong Un’s daughter was also present with him during the ceremony. She was seen sitting between Kim and his wife. For some time now, Kim’s daughter has been linked to the politics and leadership of North Korea. In his address at the program, Kim Jong Un mentioned North Korean soldiers helping Russia in the Ukraine war. However, according to government media reports, he did not comment on any other international issue.
Preparation for important meeting of Workers Party
Preparations are underway for an important and historic meeting of North Korea’s ruling party, the Workers’ Party of Korea. It is being described as the ninth Congress of the party, but till now no official information has been given to the outside world regarding its date.
