However, now Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has given its reaction on these news and has clarified the situation on the whole matter.
ICC’s trust on security concerns
According to BCB’s media release, it had raised concerns with the ICC regarding the security of the Bangladesh national team during the T20 World Cup 2026 in India. In response, the ICC has said that it gives full assurance to ensure the full and uninterrupted participation of the Bangladesh team in the tournament. ICC has also made it clear that all security related aspects will be taken seriously.
BCB’s suggestions will be considered
ICC has assured the Bangladesh Cricket Board that the suggestions and inputs given by the BCB will be included while preparing the entire security plan for the tournament. ICC and BCB will work together, so that the players do not face any kind of problem and the team can play the tournament with full focus.
The news regarding ultimatum was declared wrong.
BCB has also denied the reports running in the media, in which it was being claimed that ICC has given any ultimatum to Bangladesh or has put pressure on the matches. The Board has clearly stated that all such reports are false, baseless and incorrect. There is no mention of any such thing in the official message sent by ICC.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has also said that it will continue to negotiate with the ICC and all officials related to the tournament in a positive and professional manner. The objective of the board is not to escalate any dispute, but to find a solution with mutual consent so that the team remains safe and the tournament is also successful.

BCB also reiterated in the end that there will be no compromise on the safety, security and well-being of the players of the Bangladesh national cricket team. The board wants to ensure at all costs that the team plays in a safe environment in the T20 World Cup 2026.
