The decorum and decency of words are once again being marginalized in Telangana politics. Congress MLA from Warangal district of the state, Naini Rajendra Reddy, addressed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has been threatened that he will be beaten with shoes if he steps into Warangal. Reddy said that KTR has lost his mental balance due to his desperation to go to power.
He said that if he did not stop using abusive language against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, he would have to face public anger when he came to Warangal and people would beat him with shoes and send him back.
Controversy started due to KTR’s comment on Rahul Gandhi
This controversy started when KTR, in a public meeting, accused the Congress government of going back on its election promises. KTR said in very strong words that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had promised to provide 2 lakh jobs in Ashok Nagar during the elections, which he failed to fulfill.
KTR had said, ‘Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi should be hanged publicly for making false promises.’ Not only this, he also targeted Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and said, ‘The Congress leadership should be hanged hundreds of times for deceiving the public on issues like loan waiver of farmers and BC reservation.’
Revanth Reddy had given a statement regarding former CM KCR
It is noteworthy that this sharp statement of KTR came in response to the comment of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, in which he blamed former CM of the state K. for alleged corruption. There was talk of similar strict action against Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR). At present, the conflict between the government and the opposition in Telangana has now reached the level of personal attacks and threats, which has taken the democratic discussions in the state in a new and worrying direction.
