In Uttar Pradesh, severe cold and dense fog along with icy winds have disrupted people’s lives. Due to the decrease in the maximum and minimum temperatures of the state, cold day conditions are prevailing at many places. Today also on January 8, the Meteorological Department has warned of dense fog and cold day in 25 districts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a lot of change in the weather in the state due to the layer of fog in the next two days, due to which the maximum temperature will be lower than normal, after which it will increase by 3-5 degrees in the next two days and will again fall by 2-4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is also expected to be below normal.
The weather will remain dry in Uttar Pradesh even today. During this period, dense fog has been predicted in many districts including Noida, Meerut and Jhansi in the western division. Whereas in Eastern UP, a warning of cold day has been given from the capital Lucknow to Ayodhya-Varanasi. Icy winds will blow here and there will be dense fog.

In UP, a warning of cold day with dense fog has been given in Lucknow, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Kanpur, Amethi, Gonda, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Jaunpur, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Varanasi and Chandauli today.
Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Noida, Bijnor, Moradabad, Hapur, Sambhal, Rampur, Bareilly, Badaun, Pilibhi, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Bulandshahr, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Yellow alert of fog has been given in Prayagraj, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra.
These are the coldest districts of the state
The lowest minimum temperature of 5.0 degree Celsius was recorded in Ayodhya and Azammarh. Whereas in Gorakhpur, Churk and Aligarh the minimum temperature remained between 5-6 degrees Celsius. People are facing problems in transportation due to cold. Road, air and rail traffic is being affected due to fog.
In view of the harsh winter, winter holidays in schools have also been extended in most of the districts of the state. People are hiding in their homes due to fog. There is some sunlight during the day but it is not having any effect. Melting has increased due to winds. People are forced to resort to bonfires to escape the cold.
