The family of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has suffered a major setback in the Land for Job case. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has framed charges against 41 accused including Lalu Yadav in this case. The special CBI court gave its verdict after hearing the arguments of all the parties.

‘Lalu collected property for his wife and children’
The CBI court accepted that there are sufficient grounds for further hearing in this case. Now as per the next process, trial will be started and evidence will be presented against the accused. The court accepted that Lalu Yadav acquired immovable property for his wife and children and the rest of the accused cooperated in the conspiracy. In this entire case, 52 accused were acquitted, while 5 people have died.

CBI allegations against Lalu Yadav family
CBI alleges that when Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister, his land was taken in exchange for giving him Group D jobs in the Railways. This land was given in the name of Lalu Yadav’s family and his close people. However, all the accused have rejected these allegations calling them politically motivated. During the hearing, CBI told the court that out of 103 accused named in the charge sheet, 5 have died.

‘Scam while Lalu Yadav was Railway Minister’
CBI has filed a charge sheet in this case against many people including Lalu Yadav, his wife and former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi, his daughter Misa Bharti and his son Tejashwi Yadav. The agency alleges that between 2004 and 2009, when Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister, land was taken in exchange for Group-D jobs in the West Central Zone (Jabalpur Zone) of the Railways. This land was transferred to the name of Lalu family or people close to him.
