Pakistan has started large-scale military reorganization and deployment in the Sir Creek area. This area is a marshy area located at the mouth of the Indus River, over which there has been a dispute between India and Pakistan for a long time. According to high-level security sources, this step is not a normal military activity but a part of deliberate strategic preparation, which reflects Pakistan’s asymmetrical war policy.
This military buildup includes air defence, surveillance radar, marine brigades, drone activities and a rapidly growing naval force. Talking about the geographical location of Sir Creek, it is very close to the Gujarat coast, Arabian Sea and India’s western naval route, which makes it extremely sensitive and strategic.
Multi-layered radar and air-defense network on the Makran coast
The most important aspect of Pakistan’s military preparedness is the dense and multi-layered radar network established along the Makran coast. According to sources, it includes short-range, medium-range and long-range radars, whose monitoring capability is said to be up to 1,000 kilometers. The special thing about this network is that it includes radars of both American and Chinese technology. This provides Pakistan better facilities for timely monitoring of airspace, monitoring of maritime patrol aircraft, and identification of missile and drone activities. It is believed that along with these radars, surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) will also be deployed, due to which this area can become a kind of area-denial zone.
New Marine Brigade and drone activity
Pakistan has also prepared a new Marine Brigade with about 3,000 soldiers in this area. The marshy, river-drained part of Sir Creek is considered more non-strategic and suitable for hybrid warfare than conventional warfare. Along with this, drones have been seen in the area, which indicates that Pakistan is continuously monitoring this area. He is emphasizing on identifying targets by collecting intelligence information at low cost.

Pakistan is also rapidly strengthening its navy. Two or three Hangar-class submarines can be inducted into the Navy in the year 2026 itself. These are part of a total of 8 submarines project, some of which are being built in China and some in Karachi. The main features of these submarines are that they have Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology. Its weight is 2,800 tonnes, which has the ability to stay underwater for a long time. It is equipped with better secrecy and firepower. AIP technology enables submarines to operate for long periods of time without surfacing. It is noteworthy that India is also working with Germany on a plan to build similar submarines.
