The cold of January in Delhi has increased the problems of the people. On January 15, the minimum temperature in the capital was recorded at around 4 degrees Celsius, which is one of the lowest levels of this season. Dense fog in the morning made the situation more difficult. Visibility was less than 50 meters in many areas, due to which there was a direct impact on road, rail and air traffic.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding cold. Besides, a warning has been issued of moderate to very dense fog in different areas of the capital Delhi for the next 2 hours. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has recorded the mercury up to two degrees on the morning of Makar Sankranti on Thursday, January 15.
Cold wave and strong winds increased the chill
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold wave may persist in some areas of Delhi till January 16. Today the sky is likely to remain cloudy throughout the day, due to which there will be no sunshine.
Also, cold winds can blow at a speed of about 19 kilometers per hour. Due to these winds the feeling of cold will increase further. It is estimated that today the maximum temperature will be around 21 degrees Celsius.

Along with cold and fog, the air of the capital also remains very bad. Delhi’s AQI has reached the level of 482, which is considered dangerous for health. In view of this, doctors advise that the elderly, children and respiratory patients should avoid going out in the morning and evening.
When will we get relief from cold?
According to IMD, a gradual increase in temperature may be seen from January 17 and 18. During this period, the maximum temperature may increase by 3 to 5 degrees, which will provide some relief during the day. However, there is a possibility of light rain or sprinkle between 18th and 19th January, due to which the morning cold may increase again.
The Meteorological Department says that between January 16 and 20, the maximum temperature may rise to 25 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature may also remain around 10 degrees. But between January 20 and 25, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm due to the effect of a western disturbance.
In such a situation, the temperature may drop once again and the severity of cold may increase again. Overall, the weather of Delhi will be seen changing frequently in the coming days.
