Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki India Limited is going to invest Rs 35,000 crore to build a new plant in Khoraj, Gujarat. The company plans to manufacture a total of 10 lakh cars every year in this plant. Not only this, the construction of this new auto plant is also expected to provide employment to about 12,000 people.
Factory will be set up on 1,750 acres of land
Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant will be set up on 1,750 acres of land given by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). Company MD Mr. Hitachi Takeuchi handed over the investment letter to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at a function held between the state government and the automaker in Gandhinagar. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi and Maruti Suzuki’s Whole Time Director and Executive Committee Member Sunil Kakkar were also present.
Gujarat will move ahead in auto sector
In this regard, the Chief Minister posted on his official He further said that this project will promote the development of supporting units and MSMEs, thereby creating a strong auto manufacturing cluster.
Hailing the India-Japan partnership, CM Patel said Maruti Suzuki’s presence reflects global confidence in Gujarat’s policy-based governance, world-class infrastructure and industry-friendly ecosystem. He said, “Gujarat has strongly emerged as one of the major automobile hubs of India and a preferred destination for global investors.”
