In Virginia, USA, federal agents raided a motel involved in criminal activities. In this action, an Indian origin couple has been arrested along with 3 other people. He has been accused of drug and sex trafficking. Kosha Sharma, 52, and Tarun Sharma, 55, are accused of using the third floor of their Red Carpet Inn hotel for drug sales and prostitution, according to federal prosecutors in Northern Virginia.
Motel was being run in the name of Red Carpet Inn
After several undercover operations, federal and local agents raided the motel, located at the center of criminal activity. According to Dalti documents, since May 2023, Kosha Sharma alias Ma or Mama and Tarun Sharma alias Pop and Kosha LLC were running the motel in the name of Red Carpet Inn. Action was taken against him. Three other people, 51-year-old Margo Pierce, 40-year-old Joshua Reddick and 33-year-old Rashard Smith, were also arrested in this case.
Allegations of prostitution and drug racket
It is alleged that Kosha and Tarun Sharma allowed prostitution and drug racket to be run from the motel and took part in the profits from illegal activities. Police said Kosha used to accommodate prostitutes and drug seekers on the third floor and would notify them when the police arrived and would often prevent police officers from entering the rooms. Court documents revealed that between May and August 2025, undercover agents from Prince William County and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) visited the motel at least nine times, posing as brokers and customers.
How much can the punishment be?
According to the documents, at least 8 women were forced into prostitution. Smith met with several unknown persons and charged them $80 to $150 for sex. During this period, the undercover agent posed as a customer and purchased drugs 15 times in the hotel. He found fentanyl 11 times and cocaine 4 times. Police said that if found guilty, the accused will have to face at least 10 years in jail.
