India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a Letter of Intent to work on a framework agreement for strategic defense partnership. In this, it has been said that bilateral trade will be taken to 200 billion dollars by the year 2032, hearing which Pakistan has got a big shock. Pakistani expert Qamar Cheema has said about this meeting that if we look at the leadership of both the countries, whatever has happened, I have never seen anything like this before.
He said, ‘The defense agreement that UAE has signed with India is no joke. I think UAE did not expect that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would be able to do this. He said, ‘Saudi Arabia stood with Pakistan and went to UAE and stood with India. So will there actually be a war between India and Saudi or will there be a war between Pakistan and UAE? The President of UAE came to India with the delegation for three hours on Monday (January 19, 2026), in which both the countries signed a Letter of Intent.
Qamar Cheema said, ‘If I see this whole process, I feel that this is going to be a big issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan were sitting in the entire meeting, apart from both of them no one else was there. You have never seen this before. I understand that in the private conversation between the two leaders, I think that UAE said that it wants to sign a defi agreement with you. The letter of intent is from UAE.
Pakistani expert said that talks always happen at delegation level, but something happened which they do not want to share. He said that one important thing to remember is that the Defense Minister is also in the UAE delegation. Our Emirati brothers must have thought that if they want to neutralize Pakistan regarding Saudi Arabia then they should go to India and their comfort level with India is also like this.
Qamar Cheema said that if the defense agreement between India and Saudi Arabia is such that an attack on one will be considered an attack on the other too, then you should talk openly. I think this is a big program that is happening. He is the Oil Minister, there has been talk of Foreign Secretary level. I have never seen such things before.
He said that UAE is trying to say that now the time has come that it is necessary to do something. The signing of this agreement after the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is a guarantee that both the countries are thinking keeping Pakistan in mind. So the Middle East has changed. South Asia has changed, now Pakistan and India are part of the Middle East. Write this thing down in your mind.
