Deepti Tripathi, wife of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Chairman Manoj Tripathi, postponed her decision to join the Haryana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On Wednesday, January 21, Deepti claimed that her family had received threatening calls from the banned organization Babbar Khalsa International.
Deepti, who claimed to be involved in social work for many years, was to join BJP at the party office in Panchkula. During the day, invitations were sent to the media for coverage of the event. However, some people were surprised when Deepti joined BJP.
Last year, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab had a dispute with BBMB regarding the sharing of river water with Haryana. Deepti had said that she is going to join BJP on Wednesday, because she is impressed by the party’s policies, programs and development work.
Manoj Tripathi received threatening calls
According to Hindustan Times report, Deepti also claimed to create political unrest. She says that Aam Aadmi Party workers gathered at the office of her husband Manoj Tripathi. These are old employees of BBMB, some of whose demands he wanted to be fulfilled. Were protesting for this. Apart from this, Manoj Tripathi has also received threats from banned organizations like Babbar Khalsa and Rinda Group. At present, police security has been increased outside Deepti Tripathi’s house.
Will Deepti Tripathi join BJP or not?
According to reports, Deepti Tripathi reached the BJP office with her supporters at around 4.15 pm on Wednesday, but came out after a few minutes. Panchkula President of BJP informed that Deepti Tripathi has not yet accepted the membership of the party. He said that there are indications that Deepti Tripathi’s family is being threatened. It cannot be said yet when she will join the party.
