These days, Ravindra Jadeja’s name remains a topic of discussion in Indian cricket. After his poor form, the discussion regarding Jadeja’s replacement has intensified. Akshar Patel is the biggest name coming forward to replace Jaddu. Although Akshar himself has been playing for Team India for a long time, Jadeja is one of the permanent players of Team India, while Akshar keeps going in and out of the team.

He is currently available for Test and ODI formats. On the other hand, Akshar is a part of Team India in all three formats.

If we look at the records of both in ODIs, till now Jadeja has played 210 ODIs. On the other hand, Akshar has reached 71 ODIs. Jaddu scored 2905 runs and took 232 wickets. Whereas Akshar scored 858 runs and took 75 wickets.
If we take a look at the Test records of both, till now Jadeja has played 89 matches, in which he scored 4095 runs and took 348 wickets. Akshar has played only 15 tests so far, in which he scored 688 runs and took 57 wickets.
In the remaining T20 International, Jadeja played 74 matches, in which he scored 515 runs and took 54 wickets. Akshar has played 86 matches, in which he has scored 686 runs and taken 83 wickets.
Jadeja in bad form
Jadeja appeared a complete flop in the recent ODI series played against New Zealand. While batting in three matches, he scored 04, 27 and 12 runs respectively. While bowling, he did not get any wicket in all three matches.
There has been a surge in Akshar’s form in the last one year
If seen, there has been a rise in Axar Patel’s form in the last one year, whereas Jadeja’s form has gone down. Akshar had scored 290 runs in 11 matches in 2025. Whereas Jadeja had scored only 106 runs in 10 matches.
