These stars have also had to face a lot of trolling for advertising such products. But do you know that Sunil Shetty had once rejected such an endorsement. He was even offered a huge amount. Sunil Shetty himself has revealed this in an interview.
Why was the tobacco ad offer of Rs 40 crore rejected??
Sunil Shetty once received an offer of Rs 40 crore to endorse a tobacco brand, although the actor rejected it. While revealing the reason for this, Sunil told Peeping Moon, “I am everything because of my health. It is my body that gave Sunil Shetty a chance in the film industry. If I do not consider it as my place of worship, then I would be doing injustice to myself. What legacy will I leave for my children? I may not be that popular today in terms of cinema or box office, but even today 17 to 20 year old children give me so much love and respect. This is unreal.”
He further said, “I was offered Rs 40 crore for a tobacco ad, and I looked at them and said, ‘Do you really think I will fall for this? I won’t.’ Maybe I needed that money, but no. I will not do anything that I do not believe in, because it will taint Ahaan, Athiya and Rahul. After that, no one dared to come near me.”
Sunil is excited with the release of son Ahaan’s Border 2
Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty is quite excited with the release of his son Ahan Shetty’s ‘Border 2’. Sunil had also written a post in the name of his son on Instagram. In the post, Sunil wrote for Ahaan that Border 2 is not about glory or war, but about understanding why peace exists. He further wrote that the border is not where the country ends, but it is where courage begins, and some stories transcend cinema and remain alive in the memories of the country.
