Team India did wonders in the second T20 against New Zealand. The Indian team achieved the target of 209 runs given by New Zealand in just 15.2 overs. The most important thing in this was that Team India had lost the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson for just 6 runs. After this, Ishan Kishan at number three turned the tide of the match by playing a brilliant inning of 76 runs in just 32 balls. In this stormy innings, Ishaan hit 11 fours and 4 sixes. After the match, Ishaan gave a big statement, which has gone viral on social media.
‘Are you worthy of playing for India or not?’
After the victory in the second T20 played in Raipur, Ishan Kishan said, “Today my entire focus was only on what I had to do. I wanted to keep myself in the right mental state. When you feel you are batting well, all you have to do is see the ball and play with patience. While chasing the target of 208 runs, it was very important to take full advantage of the powerplay, so I was trying to score as many runs as possible..”
Ishan Kishan, who returned to Team India due to his excellent performance in domestic cricket, said, “I just wanted to score runs. Sometimes you do it for yourself, to get answers to your own questions about whether you deserve to play for India or not. The confidence I got from there (domestic cricket), I brought it here and it proved to be a good day for me.“
When asked about his return to the team, he said, “I just asked myself one question, can I do it again or not? And the answer was that I can handle the innings and score runs. Even if I got out, I just wanted to play good cricket.“
