- Salman had said, “My only worry in Chak De was that my fans would expect me to wear a wig and win matches for India, which would not have been right for the film. That was not my genre at that time.”

Salman also admitted that Chak De! India required a balanced, performance-oriented approach, which was different from the big commercial films he was associated with at that time. He said, “It was a more serious kind of film and I was doing mostly commercial kind of films, which I am still doing.”
At the same time, he also clarified that his commitment towards commercial cinema does not mean that he is rejecting good stories. He had said, “I will never move out of the commercial cinema zone, but the only thing is that there will be a lot of meaningful films in the commercial zone.”
