Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has given an emotional reaction on completing 10 years in international cricket. Hardik has called this not the destination of his career but a new beginning. He said that he is still just starting to walk on the path that he dreamed of as a child.

Hardik made his ODI debut on 26 January 2016 against Australia in Adelaide. Making his debut on Republic Day was a very special moment for him. Writing a post on Instagram, Hardik said, “A journey of 10 years, and I have turned 33. Playing and serving the country are both a matter of pride for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love I have received from all of you. Thank you for everything. Thank you also to God for all the difficulties that have brought me here. For the opportunities that so many people have given me by trusting me and for the opportunity to live the life that I have got. This year.” It has taught me that this is just the beginning of the path I really want to take.”
Remembered the journey from childhood till today
Hardik remembered the hard work of his childhood. He told, “If I look back, I remember the same young Hardik from Baroda, who used to run extra miles to play. A batsman, who used to bowl more balls in the nets to the bowlers because they did not get a chance to practice batting. Becoming an all-rounder at the age of 19, sometimes being recognized, sometimes rejected and then getting a chance to play for his country. This has been the most valuable journey of my life.”
He further wrote, “God had made big plans for me when he gave me a chance to debut on 26th January. While playing this game, I have transformed from a human being to a man, and I will also grow old with this game.”
Important role in India’s big victories
Hardik Pandya contributed to many big wins in India’s white-ball cricket. He played a decisive role in winning the T20 World Cup in 2024 and the Champions Trophy in 2025. In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Hardik scored 144 runs in six innings and took 11 wickets. In the final, he ensured India’s victory by taking the wicket of David Miller in the last over.
