Scotland has announced the squad for the upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup. But now the team is in danger of not playing in the World Cup. This threat has a connection with Pakistan. The fact is that Scotland has made Pakistani-origin fast bowler Safyaan Sharif a part of its squad. At present there is uncertainty regarding Safyan.
Media reports said that the Scotland team management is confident that after the ICC’s assurance, there will be no problem or delay of any kind. Meanwhile, Scottish Cricket officials say that there is very little time left for the start of the World Cup. Therefore, any problem related to visa can affect the team’s preparation. At the same time, it is also very important to include experienced players like Safyan in the team.
Problems in visa for applicants of Pakistani origin?
So let us tell you that according to Indian rules, the visa verification process takes more time for applicants of Pakistani origin. This may make the process a little complicated. Now it will be interesting to see whether Scotland faces any problem regarding visa or not. If the Scotland team faces any kind of problem due to visa, then the main reason for it will be the players of Pakistani origin. Therefore, Pakistan can become the biggest obstacle.
ICC assured to complete the formalities on time
Reports said that the ICC, after talking to the officials of the host country, has assured to complete all the necessary formalities on time, due to which Scotland has included Safyan in the team.
