Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Civil Services Examination (CSE) every year to recruit eligible candidates into Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and other prestigious Group A and B services of the country. This examination is considered one of the most prestigious examinations in the country. Lakhs of candidates preparing for UPSC exam appear for it every year and work hard for years to pass it.
Notification and online application process for Civil Services Examination 2026 will be available soon on the official website of UPSC. Earlier this notification was scheduled to be issued on January 14, 2026, but it was postponed due to administrative reasons. Now it is expected that the notification will be issued by the end of January or beginning of February 2026.
Important information about UPSC Civil Services Exam 2026
The examination will be conducted in two main phases. In which the preliminary examination (Prelims) will be held on 24th May 2026 and the main examination (Mains) will be held from 21st August 2026 onwards. The estimated number of vacancies for this exam is more than 1,000. UPSC CSE 2026 Qualification
The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and maximum 32 years. It is necessary to be a graduate from a recognized university. Maximum 6 attempts are allowed for general category candidates. The application fee is Rs 100. The examination is conducted in both Hindi and English languages.
How to apply for UPSC 2026
1. UPSC application is completely online. For this, it is necessary for the candidates to visit the UPSC website and register at the right time. For this, first official website upsconline.gov.in Go to.
2. Now enter personal information like name, date of birth, address, email and mobile number in Part-I Registration. Check all the information entered carefully.
3. After this, upload the scanned copy of required documents, passport size photo and signature in Part-II registration.
4. After all this, select your preferred examination center from the available list.
5. Now pay the application fee.
6. Submit the application form, note down the registration number and take a print out.

1. After the release of the notification, read all the instructions and dates carefully.
2. Keep scanned copies of documents, photographs and signatures ready while applying.
3. Apply on time, because applications will not be accepted after the last date.
