Big news has come for lakhs of students across the country. National Testing Agency i.e. NTA has declared the result of the joint CSIR UGC NET December 2025 examination. Candidates who appeared in the examination can now check their scorecard by visiting the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in. This is a news of relief for the students who have been waiting for the results for a long time.
It has been told by NTA that the result has been released after final answer key is decided and thorough investigation of all the objections lodged by the candidates. The objections received on the answer key were examined by the subject experts, only after this the final scorecard was prepared. This makes it clear that the results have been released with complete transparency and as per the rules.
The exam was held on 18 December
The joint CSIR UGC NET December 2025 examination was conducted on 18 December 2025. This examination was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination was conducted at a total of 220 examination centers across the country. The examination was conducted in two shifts, in which questions were asked from different subjects.
A total of five subjects were included in this examination. These include life sciences, earth and environmental sciences, chemistry, mathematical sciences and physical sciences. A large number of students who wanted to pursue a career in research and teaching in these subjects participated.
More than two lakh candidates had registered
A total of 2 lakh 12 thousand 552 candidates had registered for CSIR UGC NET December 2025 examination. This number shows that there was tremendous interest among the students regarding the examination. However, all the registered candidates could not appear in the examination.
Actually only 1 lakh 54 thousand 80 candidates appeared in the examination. That means, more than 58 thousand candidates could not appear in the examination due to some reason or the other. Despite this, looking at the attendance it can be said that the examination was conducted successfully on a large scale.
Attendance varied according to subjects
Talking about subjects, Life Science was the most popular subject. Maximum number of candidates registered and appeared for the examination in this subject. After this, a large number of candidates also appeared in subjects like Chemistry, Mathematical Sciences and Physics.
The number of candidates in the science subjects related to Earth, Atmospheric and Environment was relatively less, but good interest of the students was seen in this subject also. Experts believe that interest in subjects related to environment and earth science may increase further in the coming times.
How to see your CSIR UGC NET result
Candidates who want to check their result can check their scorecard by following the easy steps given below. First of all candidates go to csirnet.nta.nic.in website. Click on the link “CSIR UGC NET December 2025 Scorecard” given on the homepage.
After this the login page will open, where the candidate will have to enter his application number and date of birth. After filling the correct information, click on the submit button. After this your scorecard will appear on the screen. Candidates can download it and also take a print out of it for future reference.
