An under-construction warehouse suddenly collapsed on Wednesday (24 June 2026) in Taratala area of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Around 50 to 60 people are likely to be buried inside. Apart from this, rescue operation has been started. About 5 bodies have been recovered so far.
CM Shubhendu Adhikari reached the spot. At the same time, he has also expressed his condolences on the incident. Sniffer dogs have been brought during the rescue operation. So far 10 injured have been admitted to SSKM.
Police have taken action after the incident. Three people have been arrested in this. Those arrested include site supervisor Syed Mohammad Gulzar, two labor suppliers Mohammad Ataul and Subhash Chaudhary. At the same time, the Chief Minister also reached SSKEM Hospital. Met the victims.
