Budget 2025 Sector Wise Allocation: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the Union Budget 2026 tomorrow on Sunday. The budget of the year 2025 was considered special because for the first time the total budget of the country had crossed the figure of Rs 50 lakh crore. In the last budget, the government had paid special attention to different sectors including infrastructure, farmers, youth.

Government’s special focus will be on defence, roads and railways
In last year’s budget, the defense sector got an allocation of Rs 6.81 lakh crore. Which was decided keeping in mind the security needs of the country. Now it is expected to increase further in Budget 2026, because India’s security challenges are no longer limited to just the traditional borders. Keeping this in mind, an increase in the defense budget is being expected.
Similarly, the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways received Rs 2.87 lakh crore last year. This time too, there is a possibility of getting more budget for better road network and strengthening road safety. Whereas, Rs 2.55 lakh crore was allocated to Railways in Budget 2025.
Expenditure on rural development and education may increase
The government had allocated Rs 1.90 lakh crore for rural development in the last budget. It is expected to be taken forward in Budget 2026. The budget is expected to be used on employment schemes, development of villages and rural infrastructure.
At the same time, last year a budget of Rs 1.37 lakh crore was fixed for the education sector. It is expected to increase in Budget 2026, so that the education system can be further improved. The budget money can be used to improve schools, promote research in universities and strengthen skill development.
