The last match of Group 6 of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026 is today between India and Pakistan. Although every match between the teams of the two countries is exciting, but today it is about the semi-finals. Australia and Afghanistan have reached the semi-finals from Group 1. England has confirmed its place in Group 2, now only India and Pakistan are in the race for the last spot. ICC explained that Pakistan will have to win by how many runs or with how many balls remaining, so that it can reach the semi-finals.

In the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Australia secured the top position from Group 1, Afghanistan remained at second position. England have played their 4 matches from Group 1, after which they have 8 points and a net run rate of +1.757. England is on top. India is at second place, which has played 3 matches and has a net run rate of +3.337 with 6 points. Pakistan is in third place with 4 points, the team’s net run rate is +1.484.

India needs victory to reach semi-finals

If the Indian Under-19 team beats Pakistan today, the team will have 8 points equal to England and will also come first in the points table. In this situation, India will face Afghanistan in the semi-finals. Therefore, India just has to win to reach the semi-finals. However, even after losing, Team India can enter the semi-finals.

Pakistan’s equation

ICC told in its report that Pakistan will have to win by how many runs or with how many balls remaining to reach the semi-finals. If Pakistan bats first then the team will have to win by a margin of 105 or more runs to reach the semi-finals.

If Pakistan team fields first then it will have to achieve the target at a very fast pace. Suppose if Pakistan gets the target of 251 then they will have to achieve it before 29.4 overs.

In the final of Asia Cup held in December last year, Pakistan Under-19 team had defeated Indian Under-19 team by a huge margin of 191 runs.
