Big information has come to light regarding the schedule of ICC ODI World Cup 2027. The possible dates of this tournament to be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia have been discussed and now the wait of cricket fans may end soon. According to reports, the schedule of World Cup 2027 was discussed in the ICC meeting held in Ahmedabad on May 31. According to the information, the tournament can start from October 4, 2027, while the final match is likely to be played on November 21. The final form of the schedule can be approved at the ICC Annual General Meeting to be held in July.
A total of 54 matches will be played in the World Cup 2027. South Africa will host the maximum number of matches. There is a possibility of 41 matches in his share. Whereas 8 to 10 matches can be played in Zimbabwe, while Namibia is expected to host 3 matches. Apart from Harare and Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, Mosi-Oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium will also be included in the major centers of the tournament. The construction work of this stadium is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Domestic cricket matches will also be organized here before the official inauguration.

South Africa will host the ODI World Cup for the first time since 2003. However, during this period the country has successfully hosted big tournaments like 2007 T20 World Cup, 2009 Champions Trophy and 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup. Zimbabwe and Namibia were also the joint hosts of the Under-19 World Cup 2026 recently. This time the format of the ODI World Cup will also be seen changed. While 10 teams took part in the last two editions, in 2027 14 teams will compete for the title. All the teams will be divided into two groups of 7 each. The top three teams of each group will make it to the Super Six stage.

On the other hand, the Indian team is also slowly moving towards preparations for the World Cup 2027. India will play a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan from June 13. This series is being considered very important in terms of preparations for the upcoming World Cup. Shubman Gill will captain the team in this tour, while Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli are not available for selection due to injury.
