There is great news for the youth preparing for government jobs. Railway Recruitment Board i.e. RRB has released the official notification for recruitment to Group-D (Level-1) posts. Through this recruitment, a total of 21,997 posts will be appointed in different railway zones across the country. The application process has started from 31 January 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of Railways.

This recruitment of Railways is a special opportunity for those youth who want to get a government job with less education. The last date to apply has been fixed as March 2, 2026. At the same time, the candidates who have to deposit the application fee have been given additional time till March 4, 2026. In such a situation, candidates are advised to fill the form on time without waiting for the last date.

Who can apply
The best thing about this recruitment is that the eligibility criteria have been kept very simple. If you have passed 10th class from a recognized board, then you can apply for these posts. Apart from this, candidates who have National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT can also appear for this recruitment. This means that a large number of youth can take advantage of this opportunity.

what is the age limit
The age of the candidate should be minimum 18 years and maximum 33 years as on January 1, 2026. However, as per government rules, candidates belonging to reserved categories like OBC, SC and ST will be given relaxation in the maximum age limit. Candidates older than this can also get relief.

How much fees will have to be paid
For Railway Group-D recruitment, General and OBC category candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 500. Whereas for SC, ST, women and transgender candidates this fee has been kept at Rs 250.

A special thing about this recruitment is that when the candidates appear in the Computer Based Examination (CBT), a large part of the fee will be refunded. On appearing in CBT, Rs 400 will be refunded to General and OBC candidates, while full Rs 250 will be refunded to SC, ST and other category candidates. Therefore, it is very important to fill the bank account information correctly while applying.

How will the selection be done?
The selection process in Railway Group-D recruitment will be completed in several stages. First of all the candidates will have to give Computer Based Examination (CBT). This will be an online written examination, in which the candidates passing will be selected for the next stage.
After this the selected candidates will be called for Physical Test (PET). In this, physical ability will be tested. The documents of the candidates who will be successful in the physical test will be scrutinized. At the end there will be a medical test, in which the health of the candidate will be examined. The final selection will take place only after passing all the stages.

Keep these things in mind while applying
Before filling the online form, keep your passport size photograph and signature scanned. Fill the name and date of birth in the form as per your 10th mark sheet. If there is any mistake in this, it may cause problems later.
