Actor Vijay Arora, who played the role of Meghnad in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, entered Bollywood in the year 1972 with the film ‘Zarurat’. But the 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baaraat made him a star. The song ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’ from this film still resides in people’s hearts. It is said that this film gave Vijay such a status that even superstar Rajesh Khanna became a little worried seeing his rising stardom.

Vijay Arora was born on 27 December 1944 in Amritsar, Punjab. He was fond of acting from the beginning. Therefore, he studied from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and also won a gold medal from there. Before coming into films, he learned the nuances of theater and acting. This hard work and preparation later worked for him and he made his mark in films as well as TV.
