Mallika Prasad said on playing the character of ‘Amma’ in ‘Mardaani 3’, ‘I did not see it as a negative character’

‘Mardaani 3’ is dominating the box office these days; People are liking the film a lot. The ‘Mardaani’ franchise has always touched upon issues that people generally shy away from talking about. In this episode, actress Mallika Prasad, who played the role of villain ‘Amma’ in ‘Mardaani 3’, shared her opinion.

In an interview given to IANS, he said that our society creates its own enemies. Apart from this, she also talked openly about her character. Mallika Prasad said about her character, “It is easy to consider Amma as bad, but it is a little difficult to understand her.” Amma is not an evil force born alone, but is the result of a society where injustice, corruption and exploitation are constantly seen.

When a person’s rights are repeatedly snatched away and he does not get justice, the same system gradually makes him harsh and dangerous. Amma is also working within the same system, which has never done justice to her. Mallika said, “This may be a bit scary, but the truth is that our society itself creates its enemies.” Small everyday injustices, neglect of people and failure of the system together give birth to such characters.

Amma is the face of the same broken trust and snatched justice. My character is not just a villain but a contribution to the society. This is the reason why while playing this character, I did not just see him as a negative character, but tried to understand him as a human being. He said, “Big and influential villains are always remembered by the audience. Characters like ‘Mogambo’ and ‘Gabbar Singh’ are still alive in people’s minds. Such villains become memorable because they not only scare but also give a strong direction to the story. Mallika said, “When a female villain is brought on screen, the responsibility increases further.

Villainy cannot be limited to just anger or show off. It is also important to show emotions, pain and small moments of humanity. This is what makes the characters real and effective. Finding humanity in a villain is the most difficult but most important task.
