West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a scathing attack on the Central Government and Delhi Police as soon as she reached Delhi. She said that she is going to Banga Bhawan in Chanakyapuri, where she will meet people from Bengal and get information about the atrocities allegedly being committed by Delhi Police. Mamata alleged that Bengal is being deliberately defamed and central agencies are working at the behest of BJP.
‘Red carpet vs black carpet’ allegation
Mamata Banerjee said that when the Union Home Minister comes to West Bengal, the state government welcomes him with a red carpet, but when the people of Bengal or public representatives come to Delhi, they are treated like ‘black carpet’. He called it insulting and biased.
Serious allegations against Delhi Police
The Chief Minister accused Delhi Police of committing atrocities against the people of Bengal. He said that the police should exercise restraint and stop harassing the people coming from Bengal. Mamta claimed that in many cases innocent people are being targeted.
‘Agencies are working like BJP’s tools’
Mamta Banerjee said that Delhi Police and other investigating agencies of the country are not working impartially, but are being used as political weapons of BJP. He said that this is a dangerous situation for democracy.
