Suryakumar Yadav on IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2026: It has been made clear by the Pakistan government that their team will play in the 2026 T20 World Cup, but will take part in the match against India on 15th February. People are giving their respective reactions on this issue. Now Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav, while giving his first reaction on this matter, said that his flight is booked and he is going to Sri Lanka for the match.
In the press conference on Thursday, Suryakumar Yadav said that even though Pakistan has opposed the match, we will go for the match. Apart from this, while talking about the 2025 Asia Cup, he said that we had also played in the Asia Cup, in which India and Pakistan clashed a total of three times.
We did not refuse, our flight is booked
Surya said that we did not refuse to play the match against Pakistan, but it was forbidden from their side. ICC gave us the schedule. Our flight is booked and we are going there (Colombo).
The discussion going on in the team is that we will play the first match on 7th February and then we will go there. We have played good cricket against them. We were told that the match is on 15th February and that match is at a neutral venue. If we get a chance, we will play. Surya further said that this is a difficult decision for Pakistani players also.
Their decision is not in our control
Surya was questioned about Pakistan’s decision not to play the match against India. Responding to this he said that his decision is not in our control. We played against them in the Asia Cup on a neutral venue. We are ready.
Let us tell you that Team India will start its campaign in the tournament on 07 February. India has to play its first match against USA. After this, as per the schedule, Men in Blue will face Namibia, Pakistan and Netherlands.
