The Pakistan government has made it clear that its national cricket team will not play the T20 World Cup match with India on 15 February. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has recently confirmed this officially. But what is India’s stand on this whole matter? Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav broke his silence regarding this entire controversy and also targeted Pakistan.
Suryakumar Yadav made India’s stand clear
In the press conference of the captains before the start of T20 World Cup 2026, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav made it clear that Team India has not refused to play with Pakistan.
Suryakumar Yadav made India’s stand clear and said, “Our mentality is very clear, we have not refused to play with them. It is the Pakistan team that has refused.”
It is being told that Team India will follow ICC rules under any circumstances. Suryakumar Yadav also clearly said that Team India will leave for Colombo after the matches with USA on 7th February and Namibia on 12th February. According to the schedule of T20 World Cup, the match between India and Pakistan is to be played on 15 February at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Team India in good rhythm
India’s T20 team is in excellent form. After Gautam Gambhir became the coach, Team India has not lost a single T20 series. In the first warm-up match of the T20 World Cup, the Indian team defeated USA by 38 runs and then defeated South Africa by 30 runs. Ishan Kishan has staked claim for the opening batting order by playing a stormy innings of 53 runs in 20 balls against South Africa.
