WPL 2026 Champion RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore has won the Women’s Premier League title for the second time. In the final match of WPL 2026, RCB defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets. This is the second time after 2024 that the Bengaluru team has lifted the WPL trophy. In the final match, Delhi Capitals team batted first and scored 203 runs. This was the lowest score made by any team in the Women’s Premier League final history. But RCB team has made a record of making the biggest run chase in the history of the final.
RCB became champion for the second time
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the WPL trophy for the first time in 2024. At that time, Bengaluru had defeated Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets in the final. Two years later, Royal Challengers Bangalore have created history by chasing the record target of 204 runs.
Captain Smriti Mandhana played an inning of 81 runs in 47 balls, while Georgia Wall contributed 79 runs. The historic partnership of 165 runs between Mandhana and Wall made a valuable contribution in making RCB the champion for the second time.
Delhi lost its fourth consecutive final
Delhi Capitals have been disappointed for the fourth time in a row. A shameful record has been added to the name of Delhi, because till now they are the first team in WPL history, which has lost the final match in all the seasons. Delhi team has so far lost the finals twice each to Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
