His team’s star batsman Shimron Hetmyer is stuck in South Africa due to visa related problem and is not able to join his team in India. Let us tell you, West Indies has to play its first match against Scotland on 7th February, but Hetmyer is still stuck in Johannesburg. Cricket West Indies (CWI) has also issued a statement saying that ‘this matter will be resolved soon.’

After facing defeat in the warm-up match against Afghanistan on Wednesday i.e. February 4, the Caribbean team is now preparing for the next match, while Hetmyer’s absence is a big loss for the team. Hetmyer recently performed brilliantly in the three-match T20 series against South Africa. He scored the maximum of 171 runs in the series, in which his best score was 75 runs.
Were excluded from the 2022 T20 World Cup
Shimron Hetmyer remained in the news even in the year 2022 due to such an incident. He missed his scheduled flight to Australia for the T20 World Cup, after which Shimron Hetmyer was dropped from the T20 World Cup team. Later, Shamrah Brooks was included in the team in place of Hetmyer.
