FBI is investigating the matter
According to Kevin Smith, a spokesman for the FBI office in Phoenix, Guthrie was referring to a message sent to Tucson-based television station KOLD on Friday afternoon. KOLD said it had received an e-mail on social media related to the Guthrie case, but declined to provide further details due to the FBI’s review. The station was one of several press outlets to receive alleged ransom letters this week.

Investigators believe Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her home on the outskirts of Tucson last weekend. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said DNA testing matched blood found on Guthrie’s porch. Authorities have not yet identified any suspects. The sheriff said Friday that he was saddened that the cameras installed in Nancy Guthrie’s home did not capture anyone’s image on the day of her disappearance.
