The government also increased the prices of LPG gas, forcing people to turn to other options. Generally, there is a lot of vacant space around people’s houses. Biogas plant is not only good for the environment but now it is also becoming a source of income and savings for rural areas and farmers. The best thing is that there is no need to spend a huge amount from your pocket to set up this plant because the government is providing subsidy on it.
The government is giving so much subsidy
A subsidy scheme is being run by the Bihar government to promote biogas plants. In which the government itself is bearing a major part of the cost. If you install a small biogas plant with a production capacity of two cubic meters at your home or farm. So its total cost comes to around Rs 42000. The government directly transfers 50% of this cost to your bank account as subsidy. This means that you directly get a huge discount of Rs 21000.

Apart from this, the government is also giving additional financial assistance of Rs 1500 separately. By combining these two, a farmer gets a total government subsidy of up to Rs 22500 per biogas plant. A huge budget has also been passed under this scheme for the financial year 2025-26 so that more and more villagers can take advantage of this clean energy.
Two cylinders worth of gas will be available every month
The biggest advantage of planting this plant at home is that it requires only a little dung and water. The gas produced by adding cow dung to it daily. With this, your kitchen stove can burn continuously without any interruption. This small plant generates so much methane gas every month that it provides a backup equal to two LPG domestic cylinders used in a common kitchen.
