Global stars AP Dhillon and Anubhav Bassi joined as guests in the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4. During this, AP spoke openly about his early days and difficult times in Canada. The AP said that when he first arrived in Canada, he did not have a credit card to stay in a hotel, so he had to sleep on the street for two nights.
AP Dhillon remembered the days of struggle
Host Kapil Sharma asked him which was the most difficult time of his life. AP told, ‘The most difficult time was when I first arrived in Canada. I had no place to stay. My father gave some money, but I was not born in a rich family. I didn’t even have a credit card at that time.
He further said, ‘I went to the hotel and said I have so much money, can I stay? They asked for a credit card and I asked what is this? He refused to give the room. Then I slept in front of the hotel. I also had severe jet lag. My flight agent had booked a flight which had 5 stopovers.
Indian couple helped
AP Dhillon further told how an Indian couple helped him. He said, ‘The first night passed, but the second night I was still on the road. Just then an Indian girl came and asked me why were you sitting outside? I said I don’t have a credit card, so the hotel is not giving me the room. Then she asked her boyfriend to give her her credit card. He came and said to me, ‘Brother, don’t steal or break anything, otherwise I will be charged.’ I said, ‘No problem brother.’
Small tasks to fulfill dreams
AP told how he did many small tasks to fulfill his dreams and always worked hard. After starting college, he gradually got a credit card also made. He worked at gas stations, convenience stores and his last job at Best Buy. He used to go to college after working 10-12 hours every day and manage his rent, food and other expenses.
AP also told that he created a small corner in his rented apartment, where he could focus only on his music. He said, ‘The house where I lived had a small garage, big enough for a car. I rented a room there, saved some money, went to Home Depot and built a small 10×6 room out of plywood, put a door in it, and started learning music. I never gave up.
Today he is the owner of crores
