The bail plea of independent MP from Purnia Pappu Yadav will be heard in the MP-MLA court of Patna today. This hearing in the court is likely to start after 11 o’clock. Pappu Yadav will be brought to court directly from jail. At present he is lodged in Beur jail of Patna.
Pappu Yadav was shifted from Patna Medical College Hospital to Beur Jail last evening. Before being sent to jail, he had a medical checkup done at PMCH. According to the hospital administration, his health is fine and he was declared fit. However, while being taken to Beur jail, he was seen lying in the ambulance, due to which there were discussions.
Court appearance was held on Saturday
Pappu Yadav was presented in the court on Saturday (7 February). After this, the MP-MLA court sent him to judicial custody till Monday and ordered him to be sent to PMCH for treatment. Under the same order, he was admitted to the hospital and later shifted to jail.
Arrest in 31 year old case
Pappu Yadav was arrested after a high voltage drama in Patna late night on Friday (6 February). The arrest has been made in a 31 year old case. After his arrest, his health suddenly deteriorated, due to which he was immediately admitted to PMCH.
What is the case of 1995
This case is of the year 1995. It is alleged that a house was taken on rent by fraud from a person named Vinod Bihari Lal in Gardanibagh police station area of Patna and later it was taken over.
According to the complaint, while renting the house, it was not told that the MP’s office would be run there. Later the landlord came to know about this.
Patna’s MP-MLA court had also issued attachment-confiscation order against Pappu Yadav and other accused due to their absence from appearance for a long time. Earlier, arrest warrants and advertisements had also been issued, but there was no response then.
Pappu Yadav’s claim
Pappu Yadav has been continuously saying that he has been targeted as part of a conspiracy. His allegation is that he was trying to provide justice to the victim’s family in the NEET student rape-murder case and exposing the alleged negligence of the police. For this reason, action was taken against him and a conspiracy was even hatched to murder him.
Now all eyes are on the bail hearing to be held today, where it will be decided whether Pappu Yadav gets relief or he will have to remain in jail for the time being.
