In Madhya Pradesh, the examinations for class 10th and 12th of the Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) have started from today i.e. 10th February. This time around 16 lakh students are appearing in these examinations. Of these, about 9 lakh 7 thousand students will appear for the 10th class exam, while about 7 lakh students will appear for the 12th board exam. To prevent cheating in these examinations, MP Board has taken a unique step, under which honesty boxes have been kept at all the examination centres. Let us know about it in detail.

At how many examination centers are the exams being held?

A total of 3856 examination centers have been set up across the state. The education department and the administration had started preparations several months ago to conduct the examinations at these centers peacefully, cheating-free and with complete system. In the capital Bhopal, 30 thousand 746 students of class 10th and 26 thousand 627 students of class 12th will appear for the exam. A total of 104 examination centers have been set up here.

The board took a very special initiative

MP Board has taken a special initiative this year, whose name is Honesty Box. Actually, a big box has been kept outside every examination centre. This box is being called Honesty Box. Its purpose is that if any student has any chit, notes, guide, mobile phone or any wrong thing for copying in the examination, then he can put it in this box before going to the examination hall.

What is the purpose of this initiative?

Board officials said that the student can do this work as per his wish. The student will not be named nor will he be punished for putting items in the box. This will give the student a second chance to correct his mistakes and take the exam without any fear. Many students said that this initiative is good because it reduces stress and promotes honesty. Before entering the examination centre, students can also keep their belongings like bag, water bottle etc. in this box and take it back after the examination is over.

What are the board exam officials saying?

Pratima, an officer posted at an examination center of MP Board, said that the honesty box is being used to encourage the students. He said that we rely on the good spirit of every student. If someone has brought something by mistake then he should put it here. This will reduce the cases of copying. Let us tell you that before the commencement of the examination, every student is thoroughly examined. Students have to enter the center by 8:30 am. The exam starts at 9 o’clock. At the same time, students coming late are not allowed inside, so that the examination can start on time.

Every examination center is being monitored

Let us tell you that every student is thoroughly checked at all the examination centres. Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators (where not necessary) and any copied material are banned. CCTV cameras have been installed at sensitive centres, through which live monitoring is done. Some centers are also being monitored from Bhopal headquarters. Flying squads have also been formed to stop copying. There are four flying squads in every district. Of these, two are at the development block level and two are at the district level. Every squad has three members, who are police or administrative officers.
