Rekha Gupta government has taken a big decision for the daughters in Delhi. ‘Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’ has been approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. With this decision, the ‘Laadli Beti’ scheme, which has been running since 2008, will be implemented in a new and expanded form. Now this scheme will be known as Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya.
Lakhs of daughters of the capital will directly benefit from this decision of the government. The Chief Minister said that till now a total assistance amount of Rs 36 thousand was given to the daughters under the Laadli Scheme, but under the new scheme this amount has been increased to Rs 56 thousand.
Along with this, by adding the interest received in different stages, the daughter will get total assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh.
20 thousand rupees to daughters after graduation
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the objective of this scheme is not only to provide financial help, but also to make the daughters self-reliant and pursue their education without any hindrance. Under the scheme, assistance will be given at various stages from the birth of the daughter to her education. The special thing is that after completing graduation, daughters will be given an additional amount of Rs 20 thousand, so that they can start further studies or career.
Budget of Rs 160 crore for daughters
Delhi government will spend a total of Rs 160 crore on this scheme. Two daughters of a family will get the benefit of this scheme. The government believes that this will promote positive thinking towards daughters and families will become more aware about the education and future of their daughters.
Ladli Beti Yojana was started in the year 2008
It is noteworthy that Ladli Beti Yojana was started in the year 2008 for the education and welfare of daughters. Keeping in view the inflation and needs over time, the government decided to bring it in a new form. Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana is an extension of the same thinking, in which the daughter will be given strong financial support till she completes her studies.
Number of daughters will increase in colleges
Rekha Gupta government says that this scheme will prove to be a milestone for the daughters of Delhi. This will not only increase the number of daughters in schools and colleges, but they will also be able to fulfill their dreams with confidence. The Chief Minister assured that the Delhi government will continue to take such decisions for the respect, safety and bright future of the daughters.
