The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has reacted to the comments made by the US President regarding PM Modi’s political career. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has said that he will take appropriate action on this old viral video. Trump had made such remarks jokingly in October last year amid increased tension between the two countries after the trade deal and purchase of Russian oil.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, while replying to the media’s question related to the video in the weekly press conference, said that he has not seen the video. But if there is any such video then appropriate action will be taken.
Jaiswal said in a stern comment, ‘I have not seen the video. However, if there is any such video, whether true or false, we will take appropriate action on it.
What did US President Donald Trump say?
Trump had said this about PM Modi’s career on October 15, 2025. He had praised PM Modi a lot during that time. He had claimed that India has assured the US to stop buying oil from Russia.
Apart from this, Trump had said that PM Modi is a great man. Along with this, the PM was described as a leader who has stood the test of time. He had stressed that he loves PM Modi and Trump. After thinking for a few seconds, Trump quickly clarified that the word love should not be taken differently. He does not want to ruin PM Modi’s political career.
He further said, ‘Modi is a great man. He loves Trump… I don’t want you to interpret the word love in a different way. I don’t want to ruin his political career. Trump said these things jokingly.

This video of Trump came a few days after wishing PM Modi on his birthday on September 17, when relations between the two countries were slowly getting back on track. After the recent trade deal and tariff reduction, relations between the two countries have moved towards strengthening.
