Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has released detailed guidelines for the online examinations of various post codes to be held in the year 2026. The board has said in clear words that the examination will be conducted with complete transparency and strictness. It will be necessary to follow every rule from entry into the examination center to dress code and prohibited items. Strict action will be taken against any kind of negligence.
According to the board, the reporting time at the examination center will be clearly written in the e-admit card. Candidates will have to reach the center according to the same time. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination center after the stipulated time. Therefore, all the candidates have been advised to reach the center well in time on the day of examination.
Admit card and identity card required
E-admit card and original photo identity card will be mandatory for entry into the examination centre. Without these documents no one will be allowed inside. During the examination, candidates will have to put signature and thumb impression on the photo attendance sheet. This sheet has to be submitted to the invigilator. If any candidate does not complete this process then he will be held responsible.
Will not be able to go out before the exam is over
The board has also made it clear that no candidate will be allowed to leave the center after the commencement of the examination and before the end of the examination. All candidates will have to remain in the examination room for the entire duration.
Exam Pattern and Negative Marking
DSSSB exam will be computer based. There may also be a written examination for some posts. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English languages. However, language related questions will be asked in that language. 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. That means negative marking will remain applicable. Therefore, candidates have been advised to answer thoughtfully. The board has also clarified that issuance of e-admit card or appearing in the examination does not guarantee a job. Documents and eligibility will be scrutinized before selection.
What cannot be taken to the examination centre?
Mobile phone, Bluetooth, earphone, microphone, calculator, pen drive, scanner, electronic pen, watch, camera, wallet, bag, belt, goggles, jewelery like ring, chain or locket.
Food items and water bottles will also not be allowed to be taken inside. The board has made it clear that there will be no arrangement for storing luggage at the examination centres. Therefore, candidates should bring only necessary documents.
It is important to follow the dress code
The board has also issued dress code for the examination. Candidates will have to come wearing light colored half sleeve clothes. There should not be big buttons or any badges on clothes. It is advised for both girls and boys to wear sandals or low heel slippers. You will not be allowed to come wearing shoes.
Instructions for disabled and special cases
Arrangements for examination for disabled candidates will be made as per the guidelines of the Ministry. If a candidate wears a Kada or Kirpan for religious reasons, he/she must reach the center at least one hour before the reporting time. This is so that the security check can be completed.
Board’s strict warning
