Krishan Kalugamage went to Italy in 2007

Kalugamage shifted to Italy with his family from Sri Lanka in 2007, when he felt that he would have to end his dream of becoming a cricketer. But despite struggling, he kept his dream alive and started working in a hotel, where his shifts were long.

After this he joined Roma Cricket Club, but here his struggle increased further because most of the matches were held on the same days which were busy days for hotel business. Because of this he had to leave his jobs many times.

Kalugamage wanted to become a fast bowler, but due to injuries he started bowling spin. The stand-in captain told after the match that out of the 15 players in the Italy cricket team, 12 work outside. They work during the day and then practice with the national team.
