After the Moga rally of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, the discussion about making two Deputy CMs has intensified. An important meeting of party ministers and MLAs has been called, in which opinions will be taken on making one Scheduled Caste and one Upper Caste MLA as Deputy CM. AAP had promised to make a Dalit Deputy CM in its election manifesto, which is now being speculated to be implemented. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself confirmed his participation in the rally by tweeting, while he is admitted in Fortis Hospital, Mohali. It was believed that he would not participate in this rally, but after the information given on 16 February, the enthusiasm among the supporters has increased.
The party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will address the rally. Punjab Minister Harpal Cheema will also share the stage with him. The rally is being seen as a display of organizational strength and an indication of the upcoming strategy.
Political importance of Moga
Moga is considered to be the central point of Malwa, from where Majha, Malwa and Doaba regions can be easily reached. This is why political parties often try to give big messages from here. The district has a deep connection with farmer movements and union activities.
