On Tuesday (February 17, 2026), Pakistani Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has made serious allegations against Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khanum regarding the eye issue of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. He claimed that Alima Khanum is doing politics on Imran Khan’s health.
Naqvi alleged during the press conference that after the first injection in Imran Khan’s eye, the doctors were to see him on February 12 and conduct tests, but because of Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khanum, after a delay of three days, the doctors were able to reach Adiala Jail on February 15 to test Imran Khan.
What allegations did the Home Minister make against Alima Khanum??
Not only this, Mohsin Naqvi alleged that when the team of doctors went to Adiala jail to examine Imran Khan on February 15, PTI chief Dr. Gauhar Khan was also called, but Dr. Gauhar Khan refused to come. Even after that, PTI chief Gauhar Khan and Senate opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai were called by PIMS Hospital in Islamabad and informed about Imran Khan’s condition and a 45-minute conversation was held with Imran Khan’s doctors, in which Imran Khan’s doctors described the treatment as very good.
Khan will be shifted to the hospital only on the advice of doctors.
On the demand of PTI and Imran Khan’s family to shift Imran Khan to the hospital, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that if the doctors advise, then they will get him admitted to the hospital for a week or two, but this will happen only on the advice of the doctors. Along with this, patting the back of his government, Naqvi said that Imran Khan’s anti-VEGF injection could have been done in jail also, but to provide a safe environment, he was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and got the injection done.
Contradiction seen in statements of Pakistani Home Minister
Throughout her press conferences, Pakistani Home Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aalima Khanum was sometimes accused of doing politics over his health and sometimes of delay in Khan’s checkup. She also claimed that Imran Khan is being treated well, but Alima Khanum has asked the party officials not to praise the treatment, otherwise political issues will end.
Although Naqvi accused Khan’s sister of delay in checkup, but Mohsin Naqvi himself got trapped in this allegation, because according to Naqvi, because of Imran Khan’s sister, the doctor went for the checkup 3 days late. In this context, if Naqvi is to be believed, the doctors were to go to check up Imran Khan on February 12, but on February 12, there was a hearing in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, where the report of Imran Khan being able to see only 15 percent in his right eye was presented by the court-appointed amicus curiae Salman Safdar. Then the court had ordered the Pakistani government to form a team of doctors, which would go to see Imran Khan and report about his health to the Pakistani Supreme Court.
Pakistani government formed a team of doctors on 14 February
This team of doctors was formed by the Pakistani government on 14 February. In such a situation, Mohsin Naqvi himself seems to be trapped in his claims. Similarly, Naqvi claimed that after the checkup of Imran Khan on February 15, the doctors of the team constituted by the government had talked to Imran Khan’s own doctors for 45 minutes, in which he had agreed to the treatment and tests, but the doctors of the team constituted by the government had informed in the health report of Imran Khan that they had talked to Imran Khan’s personal doctors only for 25 minutes. Had talked to doctors and there was no mention in that report that the treatment was very good.
Apart from this, Mohsin Naqvi alleged in the press conference that lies were spread about Imran Khan’s health that he has lost 85% vision in his right eye and the condition of the jail is very bad. According to Naqvi, his wish is to take the journalists to jail and show how lavishly Imran Khan is living, but it is not in his power to take the journalists to jail.
