Kashmiri man found sitting in a suspicious car behind the Red Fort, had a fake NIA card nearby, used to commit fraud

Delhi Police has arrested a person near the Red Fort, who used to cheat people in the name of providing them jobs. This person has come from Kashmir and a fake ID card of NIA has also been found from him. That is, he used to cheat unemployed people by pretending to be an NIA officer.

Police investigation revealed that the accused used to deceive people by pretending to be an NIA officer and extort huge amounts of money from them. A fake ID card has also been found from him, by showing which he used to assure people that he was posted in a big agency.

Police found two people sitting in the car

Actually, on 18 February 2026, the police team of Kotwali police station was patrolling the area. Meanwhile, a black Hyundai Santro car (number JK01L9913) was seen parked in a suspicious condition near Delhi Chalo Park behind the Red Fort. When the police searched the car, they found two people sitting in it.

Showed fake card to police

One of these two people was identified as Mudassar, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, while the other was a minor boy. During interrogation, Mudassar showed an identity card claiming himself to be an officer associated with NIA, but the card itself looked suspicious. The police brought both of them to the police station and started intensive interrogation.

Investigation revealed that the accused is a resident of Jammu and Kashmir and used to take money from economically weaker families by luring them with jobs. He used to say that he has access to the top in Delhi and he can get a government or private job.

The accused was cheating a minor sitting in the car

According to the police, the accused had assured the family of the minor boy that he would get a good job in Delhi. In return he also took advance money.

The accused had brought the minor from Kashmir

Police investigation revealed that the accused left Kashmir on 12th February with the minor boy and reached Delhi on the night of 13th February. Both people stayed in a guest house in Jama Masjid area. The accused claimed that he had contacted some people in Delhi, but he could not show any concrete evidence or documents.

Considering the sensitivity of the matter, joint inquiry was conducted with the Special Cell, Intelligence Bureau and the concerned central agency. During the joint interrogation, it became clear that the accused was posing as an officer by making fake ID cards and was cheating the common people.

Case registered under fraud sections

It also became clear that the NIA card he was showing was not any such identity card issued by the agency. Police have registered a case under sections of fraud.

At present, the interrogation of the accused is going on and the police is also investigating how many people he has cheated in this way so far and is there anyone else involved with him?
