A major water crisis has arisen due to a burst pipeline in La Residency Society of Greater Noida West. About 7000 people from about 2200 families remained worried about water for 24 hours. On Wednesday (February 18) morning, water supply suddenly stopped in 29 towers, due to which there was an atmosphere of chaos throughout the day.

Residents say that the main water supply pipeline burst around 11 pm, but information about it was not given on time. In the morning, when people were preparing to send to office and children to school, the taps were found dry. In many homes, daily tasks like bathing, cooking and cleaning came to a standstill. People did not understand what happened suddenly.

Tanker and bottled water support

After the water ran out, tankers were called to the society, but by then it was too late. Many families bought bottled water from nearby shops. Some people had to call private tankers and carry water in buckets to their flats.

Especially women and children had to face a lot of problems. Residents say that despite giving so much maintenance, it is very disappointing to have to carry water like this.

Society resident Sumit Jalota said that despite the complaint, there was a lot of delay in restoring the water supply. Another resident Dipankar said that this is not the first time. Water supply has been disrupted many times in the past, but no concrete steps were taken by the builder and maintenance department.

Supply restored late night

On the second day, water supply partially started at around 11 pm and the situation became normal by midnight. But the whole day’s trouble has filled the people with anger. Residents clearly say that even after spending crores of rupees to buy a flat and paying huge maintenance charges, if basic facilities are not provided, then it is a matter of great concern.
