The voter list has been updated after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Kerala. According to the office of State Chief Electoral Officer Ratan U Kelkar, now the total number of voters in Kerala is 2,69,53,644. The official publication of the updated voter list will be done on 21 February 2026 and this list will remain applicable in the upcoming assembly elections. There were 2,54,42,352 voters registered in the draft voter list released on December 23.

During the first phase of SIR process, 2.78 crore forms were distributed across the state. The number of women in the updated voter list is more than that of men. The number of female voters in the state is now 1,38,27,319, male voters are 1,31,26,048. Apart from this, 2,23,558 overseas voters have also been included in the final list.
According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, after hearing on all 140 assembly seats in the state, 53,229 names were removed from the draft list. These include people who died during the enumeration period, who acquired foreign citizenship, who migrated to other places or whose names were found to be duplicates.
How many people has the Election Commission sent notice to?
After the publication of the format list, the Election Commission had issued 36,88,948 notices for hearing. Now all these matters have been settled. Of these, there were 19,32,688 voters whose details could not be linked to the voter list of 2002 (no mapping category), while discrepancies were found in the records of 17,56,260 voters at the local level. Last year, between October 27 and January 30, 2026, the Commission accepted 13,51,151 new applications (Form-6) received for adding names to the voter list.
Apart from this, 1,59,111 applications (Form-6A) for registration as overseas voters were also approved. During the same period, a total of 24,28,639 applications related to addition or deletion of names were processed, while amendments in existing entries were made through 3,93,333 forms. With the final voter list being prepared, emphasis is now being laid on preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
