Politics in the country has heated up after the demonstration of Youth Congress workers at the India AI Impact Summit in Bharat Mandapam, Delhi. Regarding this, BJP workers are protesting against Congress in different states. Meanwhile, Delhi Police presented 4 Youth Congress workers who protested on Saturday (21 February 2026) in Patiala House Court. The court sent all four to police custody for five days.
Protest was inspired by Nepal’s GenZ movement: Police
Delhi Police lawyer said, ‘Anti-national slogans were raised during the protest. Slogans were raised to divide the country on the lines of Nepal’s GenZ. He chose a place of protest where representatives of other countries were present in large numbers. Police claimed that the protesters pushed and pushed and during this some policemen got hurt.
When the court asked the police the reason for the five-day remand, the police said, ‘We have to investigate who hatched the conspiracy and who are the people involved in the case. Where were the T-shirts printed? The lawyer of the accused had opposed the demand for police remand. He said, ‘This arrest is going to lower the dignity of democracy. If arrests start happening due to the protest, then the MPs protesting in the Parliament will also be arrested.
Delhi Police’s argument in court
The protesters arrested from Bharat Mandapam include Youth Congress National Secretary Krishna Hari from Bihar, Youth Congress State Secretary Kundan Yadav from Bihar, Youth Congress State President Ajay Kumar from Uttar Pradesh and Narasimha Yadav from Telangana. Delhi Police argued that they (protesters) raised anti-national slogans and were wearing T-shirts with objectionable pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Police said that it is necessary to recover the mobile phones of the accused and since they are from different states, custodial interrogation is necessary.
Congress surrounded in controversies
After the demonstration in India AI Impact Summit, Congress is now embroiled in controversies. This demonstration created an atmosphere of commotion at the venue for some time. During the protest, Youth Congress workers opened their T-shirts and raised slogans like ‘PM is compromised’. At the time when this protest was held at the summit, many dignitaries and representatives from India and abroad were present there.
