Samajwadi Party has given the responsibility of election management to I-PAC for the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. This is the same company which was recently raided by the Enforcement Directorate in West Bengal. According to sources, a team of IPAC has reached Lucknow and started its work. Let us tell you that along with IPAC, Showtime is also doing less about the election management of Akhilesh Yadav.
According to sources aware of the developments, a long meeting has taken place between the SP high command and the company in the past regarding taking charge of the election management. After meetings on different occasions, election related work has been given to IPAC.
On which seats will I-Pack focus for SP in UP?
According to sources, I-PAC has been asked to work primarily on those seats where Samajwadi Party had lost the elections by a small margin last time. I-PAC has been given the responsibility to do research regarding the selection of candidates, caste arithmetic and other possibilities.
Along with I-PAC, Showtime has also been given the work. Showtime is a company which has worked for Samajwadi Party in the last elections also. Showtime is working for Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde faction in Maharashtra, Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh and currently working for ADMK in Tamil Nadu.
Let us tell you that Samajwadi Party has lost 2 assembly elections since 2012. While in 2017 its number of seats was 47, in 2022 the number of seats increased to 125, although Akhilesh could not come to the government.
Whereas in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, SP had won 36 seats. After this, Akhilesh hopes that his party will perform better and return to power in the 2027 assembly elections. For this, SP Chief is following the formula of PDA.
