The Congress has geared up for Bihar assembly elections 2025. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who visited Bihar, targeted fiercely over BJP and JDU alliance. He said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar changes frost only for the chair.
Addressing the rally ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim and Jai Constitution’ of the party on Sunday (April 20, 2025) at the Dalsagar Stadium in Buxar, the Congress President termed the ruling alliance of JDU and BJP as opportunistic. Kharge appealed to the people of Bihar to exclude the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the assembly elections this year.
‘Nitish Kumar and BJP coalition opportunistic’
The Congress President said that the opportunistic alliance of Nitish Kumar and BJP is not good for the people of the state. Nitish Kumar changes frost only for the chair (Chief Minister’s post). He further said that the JDU chief has joined hands with the ideology who killed Mahatma Gandhi.
‘What happened to a package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore from Bihar’?
Kharge questioned, ‘What happened to Prime Minister Modi’s promise of package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar. He alleged that the Prime Minister is running a factory of lies. Kharge claimed, ‘The people of Bihar should ask Nitish Kumar that what happened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised a package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar on August 18, 2015?’
‘Our leaders cannot be intimidated’
Regarding the charge sheet of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, Kharge said, ‘This has been done to target the Congress. Our leaders cannot be intimidated. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the country.
The Congress President also alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP are not in favor of the welfare of the weaker sections of the society. He claimed, ‘They are against the poor, women and weaker sections of society. They (RSS-BJP) cannot think about the betterment of society. They believe in dividing the society on the basis of caste and religion. He said that the Waqf law passed by Parliament is a conspiracy of BJP, RSS to create divisions among communities.
